Texans DE J.J. Watt off the market, proposes to Houston Dash’s Kealia Ohai

Houston Texans defensive end and three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year J.J. Watt has gotten engaged to longtime girlfriend Kealia Ohai while on vacation.

Watt took to Twitter on Sunday and tweeted out the announcement with a collage of pictures, stating he was “The luckiest man in the world. #SheSaidYes”

Ohai, 27, has played for the Houston Dash since 2014 after becoming the second-overall selection in the NWSL college draft that year. The Utah native made her debut for the U.S. Women’s National Team back in 2016.

The forward’s sister Megan is married to former Texans linebacker and current strength and conditioning assistant Brian Cushing. The former Pro Bowler, a former teammate of Watt’s, will be coaching his soon-to-be brother in law for the first time this season.

Watt is entering his ninth NFL season since being selected in the first round by the Texans back in 2011. The five-time Pro Bowler and All-Pro played 16 games in 2018 for the first time since 2015, due to multiple injuries.

One of three Watt brothers playing in the NFL, with his brother T.J. playing for the Pittsburgh Steelers and Derek for the Los Angeles Chargers, J.J. may have to break with tradition and name two best men when the big day comes, otherwise, he may well have one very upset sibling.

Texans Wire sends their congratulations to the happy couple.
