Texans DE Charles Omenihu could be answer against the run

Setting the edge is important is in the NFL, and the Houston Texans may have picked up a tremendous asset in that endeavor.

According to Pro Football Focus, Texans fifth-round draft pick Charles Omenihu had the highest run stop percentage among draft eligible edge defenders in 2018.

Omenihu has a chance before him to prove his impact to the Texans defense. With second-year outside linebacker Duke Ejiofor tearing his Achilles during offseason workouts, there is a spot available for Omenihu to become a nifty edge defender.

The Texans already have a tremendous edge duo with Jadeveon Clowney and defensive end J.J. Watt. If Omenihu can flourish in a complementary role with the two Pro Bowlers, then it should be hard to run on Houston’s defense in 2019.
