Texans cornerback Johnathan Joseph admits being star-struck meeting Deion Sanders

It isn’t often NFL players admit to being star-struck, but there are a few players that even the biggest stars have to admit are nerve-racking to meet.

Houston Texans cornerback Johnathan Joseph is visiting London ahead of their game against the Jacksonville Jaguars at Wembley Stadium later this year, and on Monday he was asked by reporter Neil Reynolds at an NFL UK live event if there was a player that came to mind that had caused him to feel starstruck during his illustrious career.

His answer was immediate: Deion Sanders.

Yes, the 35-year-old cornerback admitted that the first time he met the former Atlanta Falcons, Dallas Cowboys, and San Francisco 49ers cornerback, widely known by his nickname “Primetime,” he was meeting his “childhood hero.”

Joseph stated that growing up “everybody wanted to be ‘Primetime,'” and it is hard to blame him. Easily one of the most decorated players of all time, Sanders won two Super Bowls during his 14 year NFL career he was named to eight Pro-Bowls, became a six-time All-Pro, and has since been inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
