Texans coach Bill O’Brien won’t talk about officiating, period

Sunday’s Houston Texans 30-23 loss to the Indianapolis Colts contained some questionable calls, to say the least. If one is hoping to squeak a reaction out of the fiery coach Bill O’Brien, they are very wrong. He won’t touch the subject.

When asked what he saw in the now-infamous play-call in which Tony Corrente’s officiating crew flagged down a Deshaun Watson touchdown due to a defender hanging on, O’Brien made it clear he isn’t in the business of getting fined.

“No officiating,” said O’Brien in the post-game presser. “I’m not going to answer any officiating questions.”

Is the second time a charm? Nope. O’Brien will not respond.

“No, I’m not going to answer that,” said O’Brien. “I’m sorry. I apologize for that, but I’m not answering any officiating questions. It’s nothing against you guys. I’ll never answer an officiating question.”

Unlike some coaches that will open their pocket-book to rant about officiating, O’Brien won’t. Let’s leave it at that.
