Texans’ Bill O’Brien gives support to Astros and praises Gerrit Cole

The Houston Astros are moving on to the American League Conference Series, after besting the Tampa Bay Rays 6-1 on Thursday. The Houston Texans, specifically their head coach, are excited about that.

Said Bill O’Brien on Friday at media availability: “Go Astros, by the way. [Gerrit] Cole, that guy is a great, great pitcher. That’s probably the understatement of the year.”

Astros ace pitcher, Gerrit Cole, dominated the Rays on Thursday. In eight innings, he held Tampa Bay to two hits and one run and struck out 10. It was yet another big game for one of the league’s contenders to win the AL Cy Young award.

While O’Brien prepares to play the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, the Astros are preparing to face off against the New York Yankees on Saturday, at Minute Maid Park. The winner of the best of seven series will go to the 2019 World Series, to face either the St. Louis Cardinals or Washington Nationals.
