The Houston Texans can’t get any love in the power rankings despite an AFC South title from a season ago.
In the latest USA TODAY NFL power rankings, the Texans rank 23rd overall, the lowest placement among any playoff team from the 2018 season.
If it’s possible to have a quietly disastrous offseason, they qualify. Hard to foresee them cruising back to AFC South’s summit.
The next closest playoff team is the Baltimore Ravens at 19.
In terms of the AFC South, the Texans are at the absolute bottom. The Indianapolis Colts are No. 7, the Jacksonville Jaguars are No. 17, and the Tennessee Titans are immediately behind them.
While the road to repeating as division champions will be a tough road for the Texans, falling to the bottom of the division is quite the quiet tumble indeed. If power rankings mean anything, Houston will need a fast start to make critics rethink their predictions for who finishes where the AFC South.
