Texans announce four 53-man roster moves, resign OT Chris Clark

Amid injuries to right tackle Tytus Howard (left knee), center/guard Greg Mancz (concussion), cornerback Bradley Roby (hamstring) and cornerback Johnathan Joseph (concussion), the Houston Texans have made a slew of roster moves.

During Wednesday’s media availability, Texans coach Bill O’Brien announced four roster moves, including the additions of offensive tackles Dan Skipper and Chris Clark, the release of quarterback Alex McGough and the placement of offensive tackle Seantrel Henderson on the NFI list (non-football injury).

The Texans poached Skipper from the New England Patriots practice squad. A 6-foot-10 tackle hailing from Arkansas, the 2017 undrafted free agent played one game for the Detroit Lions as a rookie. “We’ve been evaluated him for a while,” said O’Brien on Wednesday.

Clark is a familiar face. Between 2015 and 2017, he started 26 games for Houston while being active in 37. The 33-year-old played for the Carolina Panthers in 2018, starting 13 games in the process.

McGough had a brief stint on the Texans’ active roster, as Houston promoted him following their Week 1 loss to the New Orleans Saints. He is eligible to return to the practice squad.

Henderson started in Week 1 but has yet to see playing time since. He sustained a wrist injury early in the season. The Texans are not obliged to pay his salary while on the NFI list.
