Texans add OT Elijah Nkahnsah to practice squad

The Houston Texans continue to bolster their practice squad. On Wednesday, the team announced the addition of offensive tackle Elijah Nkahnsah to the 10-man group.

Nkahnsah went undrafted out of Toledo in 2018. He spent his first NFL training camp with the Tennessee Titans and his rookie season with the Seattle Seahawks. He last spent time on the Seahawks practice squad.

Nkahnsah measures in at 6-6, 311-pounds. At his Toledo pro day, he put up a 28-inch vertical, 102-inch broad jump, 5.08-second 40-yard-dash, 4.5-second 20-yard short shuttle and 7.3-second three-cone-drill.

The Texans worked out Nkahnsah alongside a group of other offensive linemen earlier in the week.

Houston has ten players on their practice squad. Nkahnsah joins CB Cornell Armstrong, WR Chad Hansen, RB Karan Higdon, DE Albert Huggins, S Chris Johnson, OT Rick Leonard, WR Steven Mitchell, S Jonathan Owens and OLB Wyatt Ray.

While a practice squad signing won’t play a role on the 53-man roster, they are worth tracking considering the potential to find a diamond in the rough. In 2018, the Texans found one in OT Roderick Johnson, who now serves as the team’s swing tackle.
