Tests surpass 75,000 as ACT remains coronavirus-free

The ACT has surpassed another testing milestone as it marked one month without an active coronavirus case.

ACT Health confirmed 75,996 tests had been returned so far, including 348 in the past 24 hours.

As the ACT has gone 30 days without an active coronavirus case, and almost two months since a new diagnosis, ACT Health has urged people returning from interstate to be cautious.

Seven new Queensland local government areas have been identified as areas of risk for COVID-19.

ACT Health last week advised anyone returning from those regions not to attend high-risk settings such as hospitals, aged care and correctional facilities for 14-days from leaving.

The same advice had also been issued for anyone returning from greater Sydney.

"Please note that these restrictions on people entering high-risk settings do notapply to people who have only transited through airports in those cities," ACT Health said in a statement.

"We continue to ask Canberrans to reconsider their need for any unnecessary travel, particularly to areas with COVID-19. We also encourage Canberrans not to invite friends and family from Greater Sydney to the ACT at this time."

The Queensland locations are:

  • City of Brisbane
  • Cherbourg Aboriginal Shire
  • City of Ipswich
  • Gold Coast City
  • Goondiwindi Region
  • Lockyer Valley Region
  • Logan City
  • Moreton Bay Region
  • Redland City.
  • Scenic Rim Region
  • Somerset Region
  • South Burnett Region
  • Southern Downs Region
  • Toowoomba Region
  • Western Downs Region.
