Testimonial honour for Ardeer legends who stuck by club 'through thick and thin'

Ayrshire non-league side Ardeer Thistle are set to honour three club legends with a special testimonial match.

The current Thistle side will take on a legends/supporters select at Ardeer Stadium on Sunday, August 28 to mark the service of stalwarts Derek Gemmell, John Colligan and Scott Reid.

A club spokesman said the game - with a 2pm kick-off - would be a celebration of three men who 'stuck by the West of Scotland League club through thick and thin' for 10 years.

Entry is a donation at the gate that goes to the club.

Former manager Peter Kean will select and manage the legends team on the day with all ex-players and fans welcome to play.

Anyone wishing to take part can call David McBlain on 07308 686395.

Gemmell served as both captain and manager of the club while ex-vice skipper Reid and former frontman Colligan made their names as firm fans’ favourites.
