Jingle Bells was the first song played in space

“Jingle Bells” became the first song played in space when, on 16 December 1965, it was broadcast during NASA's Gemini 6A space flight. The song, written by James Lord Pierpont (USA) in 1857, was originally titled “One-Horse Open Sleigh".

Christmas may not have always been celebrated on December 25

While Christmas celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ, the actual date of the big event is lost to history. There's no mention of December 25 in the Bible and many historians say Jesus was most likely born in the spring.

Mariah Carey makes serious money from her big Christmas hit

According to the New York Post, the singer makes around $3 million (£2.4 million) per year with her hit 'All I Want for Christmas is You'. In December 2019, The Economist reported that the song has earned Mariah over $60 million (£45 million) in total at that point in time since its release in 1994.
