After 14 years' absence, Early Doors is coming back to the BBC this weekend.
The sitcom hit, set entirely in a Greater Manchester pub and featuring John Henshaw as landlord Ken, was first shown in 2003 and ran for two series. It was Craig Cash's follow-up to The Royle Family and featured the same downbeat Mancunian wit and small-scale storylines.
It had a tremendous critical reception, and is much-loved by sitcom fans. Although there were only two series, it had a stage revival in 2018, featuring the return of most of the cast, which won the Manchester Evening News CityLife Award for Best Theatre Production in 2019.

Both series will be repeated on BBC4, from Saturday, January 7, at 10.55pm. And every episode will land on iPlayer at the same time, so you can relive all the highlights - from Eddie's (Mark Benton) excitement at the installation of temporary traffic lights to Melanie's (Christine Bottomley) 21st birthday party.
To celebrate the return of this sitcom classic, we've compiled a quiz for Early Doors fans. If you can't see it above, you can open the quiz in a new browser window here.
