It's more than fair to say that 2021 has been a year of peaks and troughs for Arsenal fans.
A poor start to the year saw the Gunners fail to defend their FA Cup crown and left them languishing in 10th in February.
They did of course make the semi-finals of the Europa League, but crashed out in highly disappointing fashion to Villarreal and former manager Unai Emery, who went on to win the competition.
Then followed a summer of discontent, as fans protested at Kroenke Sports & Entertainment, and their decision to be one of the 14 clubs to look to breakaway to a European Super League and a Covid-hit Gunners made a dismal start to the season.
However, the year is ending on a note of optimism and hope as a youthful and exuberant Gunners side have ended it with five wins in a row and sit in the top four of the Premier League..
