A London advertising executive and his South African wife will be celebrating their second wedding anniversary by watching the Rugby World Cup final — but vowed not to let rivalry spoil their day.
Sam Budd and Jessica Tagg, pictured with their dog Lucille, are both huge rugby fans and will be supporting their national teams in tomorrow’s crunch match.
Mr Budd said: “It is coming home, I am absolutely certain. I think they will win by 20 points. I wouldn’t hear the end of it if South Africa won.”
His wife added: “That’s not true. It’s funny because Sam usually also supports the Springboks too if they are not playing England, but all of a sudden he is very English.”
Ms Tagg added: “We’ll have a great weekend either way. It’s just a game.” Mr Budd said: “Wrong — it’s not just a game. I’ll push the pain down deep inside if we lose.”
