Tess Daly shares emotional message as she posts rare pictures of daughter with Vernon Kay

Tess Daly has shared an emotional message on social media alongside rare pictures of her daughter as she and Vernon Kay reached a parenting milestone. The Strictly Come Dancing host and BBC Radio 2 presenter share two daughters, 18-year-old Phoebe and 14-year-old Amber.

And this week, the couple officially watched one of them finish school for good after Phoebe recently completed her A-levels before having her last proper day in school. Tess marked the occasion by posting a series of pictures, including a cute throwback, to Instagram.

Sharing a picture of Phoebe in her younger school days during an egg and spoon race at a sports day, Tess wrote: "Well that’s a wrap and the school days are done. No more sports days & school shoes!" The 54-year-old also included an image of Phoebe's shiny school shoes, and an adorable family picture of herself, Phoebe and Bolton-born hubby Vernon.

Tess added alongside her post to her 827,000 followers: "As a parent it feels pretty monumental @vernonkay we’re so proud of you Phoebe; here’s to the next chapter!"

Documentary maker and former Strictly winner Stacey Dooley was among the first to respond to the post, writing: "Congrats Phoebe!" Actress and singer Suzanne Shaw sympathised with Tess as she replied: "Feeling it too. End of an era and adventures ahead for them." Meanwhile, Tess' Strictly co-host Claudia Winkleman simply posted a string of red hearts in the comments section.

Fans and followers were also keen to respond to the post. @x3ja9 said: "Aww the last pic is a tear jerker xx so sweet." @truly_scrumptious_party_bags commented: "Congratulations! Onto the next chapter!" @smittle1212 replied: "Proud parents I’m sure! A new chapter for all of you to enjoy."

@shirley_dmm posted: "Aw. Well done Phoebe. An exciting future beckons. No more egg and spoon races." @evelyn.martin.10690 wrote: "What a gorgeous girl … I hope she has a wonderful future." @jemloo1 typed: "Definitely the end of an era. Best wishes for the future Phoebe." @sammaxw added: "Look at that little face . It really is the end of a very special time shared."

It comes after Vernon was branded 'dad goals' after being mistaken for a teenager as he accompanied Pheobe to Ibizia last month. The radio and TV presenter shares took the trip out to the party island to celebrate her finishing up her exams.

ernon posted an adorable picture stood next to his daughter in a sea of people and posed for the camera in front of the stage. Vernon kept it casual in a black T-shirt while he held a glass of water in one and had a seemingly glass of fizz in the other while his daughter wore a white cut out top along with a cream skirt as he held up her drink in one hand while beaming next to her dad.

He also shared another snap of the pair with DJ Calvin Harris with actress and comedian Emily Atack sneakily photobombing. Sharing his delight at being able to join his daughter in her celebrations, Vernon captioned the post to his 737K followers: "A proud moment to be able to take Phoebe to Ibiza and celebrate end of Alevels…What a party!!!."

Wife Tess was quick to respond, writing in the comments section: "The best of times she’ll never forget!" alongside a string of red heart emojis. Meanwhile, former rugby star James Haskell simply replied: "Yes mate," as Sky Sports News presenter Emma-Louise Paton declared Vernon was "dad goals".
