Tess Daly apologises after 'technical hitch' causes Strictly blackout

Strictly Come Dancing host Tess Daly apologised after a technical hitch hit during Saturday night's live show.

As Dan Walker and his professional partner Nadiya Bychkova performed the charleston to Good Morning from Singin' in the Rain there was a brief blackout on the BBC dance show.

The dancing was back on our screens after just a split second, but Tess addressed the unusual issue afterwards.

"I'd just like to apologise for the slight techinical hitch during that," she said.

But fans were unfazed by the interruption and the praise came pouring in for the BBC Breakfast host's performance.

Many said it was his best dance yet on the show.

@see75 said on Twitter: "Loved that!!! Hope Dan doesn’t think the technical hitch was too bad! #strictly."

@sharron333 tweeted: "Huge congrats Dan & Nadiya! 31 & very much deserved! No, Dan may not be the best dancer on the show but, when Strictly first started, it used to be about the journey as much as the dancing.

"Last few years has been too much about favourites. Dan deserved his place tonight."

@ZebraSats5 told the pair: "@mrdanwalker and @NadiyaBychkova.

"Absolutely brilliant. Dan and Nadiya what an absolutely incredible Charleston.

"You are what Strictly's all about your journey is fabulous to watch your best dance yet."

And @victoriacarlin_ said: "His best dance for me and one of my faves tonight.

"Admittedly, I wasn’t overly fussed on Dan before Strictly but it’s been so lovely to watch him just enjoy it so much and see more of Nadiya. Doesn’t deserve to be near the bottom tonight at all."
