Tesco worker shares cringe-worthy jokes she hears from customers every shift

A Tesco employee has shared some of the most common things she hears from customers when ringing them up at the till - and all of them make her cringe.

In the now viral Tik Tok video, Holly listed the just a few of the comments she hears "at least 10 times each shift" at the supermarket, including the classic joke everyone makes when an item doesn't scan first time.

Posting to under the username @hollydixon2112, she says the first thing she hears on a daily basis is shoppers telling her they "only came in for one thing" - despite coming up to pay with "the whole shop" in their trolley.

Next up was the old favourite: "Oh, it's not scanning? It must be free!"

To which an unimpressed Holly simply wrote in text on the video: "Absolutely not."

Finally, the employee said she isn't fond of customers who say she "looks bored" and state they're going to "give her something to do" by choosing her till for their shopping.

She said: "I was happy chilling and counting down the minutes until I finish."

In the comments, some people shared their own experiences with working in supermarkets as they quoted other popular phrases that customers use whenever they're at work.

One person said: "I get asked if I'm worried about losing my job if they use the self-service till."

While another added: "Or they ask for a lottery ticket and then go 'the winning one would be good' when you ask what one they want."

And others admitted they've definitely used these common sayings at least once, with one user posting: "I hold my hand up that I'm probably one of these people that say these things."

While Holly might poke fun at the customers she sees while working in Tesco, she defended her job in the comments when someone suggested it was "time for a job change", as she said: "I love my job."
