Tesco worker's off-script tannoy announcement leaves people in hysterics

A Tesco worker who went off-script for the store closing announcement has left shoppers in fits of giggles.

Addressing supermarket shoppers, Nathan Lorenzo filmed himself telling customers they had 10 minutes until the shop shut and opened with: "Good evening my pumpkins."

The video has now had almost three million views on TikTok, according to MyLondon.

He continued: "It's yours truly and this is a customer announcement. Now don't go shooting the messenger but I do have some awful news I have to inform you on."

At this point his manager can be heard shouting "Nathan!" but Nathan continues regardless.

He says: "And that awful news is that we will be closing in the next ten minutes.

"So if you can all select those final items, grab the bottle of [inaudible] and foxtrot down to our checkouts.

"Where you will be served by the fabulous Sean. I hope you all have a lovely evening and thank you, once again, for shopping with us at Tesco."

Shoppers can be heard laughing in the background, but it seems the manager was ready to give him a ticking off.

He can be heard saying: "Err no," before the video ends.

One person said: "What does he mean 'err no'? You did it better than anyone else I've ever heard."

Another commented: "Tesco you need to give him a raise and tell that manager to lighten up because if I heard this on the tannoy it would make my day."

A third wrote: "Tesco should be proud to have such a brilliant employee.

"You bring brightness into this robotic and scary world."

After many expressed concern of whether he still had a job, Nathan returned to TikTok to reassure his viewers that he hadn't been fired, but had been told to be careful of what he posts on social media.
