Tesco website and app crash leads to home delivery disasters for customers

Tesco's website and app crashed over the weekend, after hackers targeted the supermarket chain.

Although the website is up and running again now, it meant that customers were unable to arrange home deliveries or change their baskets.

This seemingly left some people with unfortunate delivery orders, and some have taken to social media to share their frustration at the disruption.

One Twitter user wrote: "If @Tesco don't sort their app out soon, I'm going to be receiving my weekly shop consisting of 1x banana for 13p with £4 delivery as I can't amend my order due to their site being down."

Another said: "Tesco app still down. Our delivery tomorrow is just gonna be a tub of Ben & Jerry’s and a bottle of champagne".

However, some people seemed to see the funny side.

One user wrote: "The @Tesco Grocery app has been down for 12hrs so I can’t amend my delivery which is due tomorrow. Therefore if anyone has any tasty recipes which incorporate the three things I have in my basket (added to hold the slot) - vodka, cat litter & toilet roll, please send them my way".

One Twitter user reported that they sent their delivery to the wrong address and were unable to change it.

They wrote: "Of course, the day I think I've sent my entire @Tesco delivery to the wrong address the site and app is down. I could actually cry."
