A string of UK supermarkets have been forced to urgently recalling a brand of laundry detergent amid serious safety concerns.
It's understood that some bottles of Ecover liquid detergent may contain a dangerous level of potassium hydroxide, which can cause skin burns and eye damage.
The product is currently sold in Tesco, Waitrose, Morrisons and Boots among other UK stores, My London reports.
Concerning amounts of potassium hydroxide in the liquid have also caused the detergent to leak out of its packaging and shoppers have been warned not to open the bottle or touch its contents.
The bottles, which have been sold in the UK market since November 2020, will be collected from affected customers' homes.
Ecover made the announcement about it 1.5 litre zero non-bio laundry liquid, with the issue problem affecting certain bottles bearing one of two specific batch codes.

The firm has created a recall website for consumers to check whether they have an affected product and said:
"We strongly advise consumers not to open or use the affected product as it contains hazardous levels of potassium hydroxide.
"We will be organising collection of the bottles direct from consumers through this website, following Covid-19 protocol, as well as offering refunds and additional support.”
