Tesco urgently warns shoppers not to eat potentially dangerous chicken product

Supermarket giant Tesco has issued an urgent warning about some of the chicken it sells in stores.

The retailer is recalling 650G SFC Take Home Boneless Buckets over fears they could contain Salmonella.

Posting on Twitter, Tesco wrote: "As a precaution, the manufacturer of SFC Chicken is recalling all batch codes of SFC Take Home Boneless Buckets 650G, with the best before date of 28/11/21.

"This is due to the presence of Salmonella in the products."

The following items are affected:

  • SFC Take Home Boneless Buckets 650G
  • Best before date: 28 November 2021
  • Batches: All batch codes

Salmonella is a bacteria that can cause food poisoning, which can be dangerous for some people with weakened immune systems due to certain medical conditions.

If you have purchased one of the affected products, Tesco says: "Do not eat the affected product. Instead, return it to a Tesco store where a full refund will be given. No receipt is required."
