Tesco unveils top 10 Christmas toys 2020 - including cars, Lego and role-play games

Kids will go crackers for nurse-themed gifts this Christmas after NHS staff inspired them with their heroic work in the pandemic, according to toy experts.

Shiver ’n’ Shake Rainbow Kate is tipped as one of this year’s top sellers – a £40 doll that tells you how she feels and how she can be made better.

Being stuck in under lockdown also revived interest in role-playing games and evergreen classics such as Lego and Pictionary, says Tesco.

And at the top of its festive gifts list is an interactive version of the classic Super Mario video game.

The Lego Mario figure has built-in screens and issues his “Here we go” catchphrase as he takes on challenges.

Other tips include a laser battle game with radio-control vehicles, an interactive doll that grows up and an app-based version of Pictionary.

Tesco’s Anne Borrett said: “Vehicles are seeing huge growth and there’s been a resurgence in toys that entertain longer.”
