Accompanied by a velvety truffle potato puree and sweet heritage carrots which have been cooked with star anise and butter for an aromatic glaze too tempting to resist.

The second box contains the Finest Confit Duck Leg, which has been slow cooked with garlic and thyme for a succulent flavour. It is served with a sour cherry and beetroot puree which has been made with sweet, acidic pomegranate molasses to contrast with the richness of the duck, and a side dish of red cabbage braised with port, red wine and muscovado sugar to make it sweet and sticky.

The final dish, Finest Ballotine of Chicken, contains British chicken breast hand filled with a spinach and garlic centre, then wrapped in Parma ham for a contrasting savoury note. It is served with creamy fondant potato, buttery celeriac wedges and a smooth, luxurious celeriac and carrot puree.

Jamie Robinson, Executive Chef at Tesco said: “As much as the nation has embraced cooking during lockdown, we could all do with the occasional night off. These meal boxes are a game changer; restaurant quality mains that have been pre-cooked and beautifully paired with accompanying sides, allowing Tesco shoppers the chance to recreate a stress-free, fine dining experience at home.”
