Tesco shoppers left disappointed while booking Christmas delivery slots

Tesco has apologised to its customers after they couldn't book Christmas delivery slots.

With less than a month until Christmas Day, people have been waiting patiently to snap up coveted food delivery slots between December 23 and 24.

Bookings for Tesco's 'priority delivery saver' slots opened just after midnight on Wednesday, November 27.

But the supermarket giant's website crashed and some customers experienced issues when logging on and placing orders.

'What's the point?'

Tesco has apologised to customers and says there are still slots available for home delivery and click and collect orders.

Slots for non-delivery saver bookings will go live in stages from Saturday, November 30.

A Tesco spokesperson said: “We had an unprecedented volume of traffic on our website last night and because of this, we’re aware that some customers temporarily experienced a problem when logging onto our website or placing orders.

"We are very sorry and would like to reassure customers that there are still slots available for both home delivery and click and collect over the Christmas period.”
