Tesco shoppers in stitches after unfortunate spelling mistake on supermarket sign

Customers in one Tesco store were left cringing after they spotted a hilarious spelling mistake on a notice in the bakery section.

The sign has since gone viral after the gaffe left thousands of people laughing over the unfortunate error.

The notice, printed on an A4 page, intended to inform customers that there would be no bakery products due to staff shortages.

However, it's the words of apology that left people skitting.

Instead of saying sorry for the "inconvenience", the sign expresses regret over the "incontinence" caused.

The sign reads in full: "Sorry, no bakery due to staff shortage. Apology for any incontinence."

According to Merriam Webster, incontinence is defined as the "inability of the body to control the evacuative functions of urination or defecation/ partial or complete loss of bladder or bowel control".

An image of the sign was quickly posted on Reddit, with people jumping at the chance to chime in on the supermarket mishap..

“Tesco really are taking the p***," one person joked, as the Daily Star reports.

Another user added: “Only a single apology as well."

A third noted: “God I hope that was intentional.”

Someone else stated: “Tesco bakery is wild.”

A Tesco spokesperson told the Daily Star: “A very unfortunate but amusing typo – we are sorry for any inconvenience this has caused though.”
