Tesco shoppers 'gutted' after three month warning

Tesco shoppers have been left disappointed after being hit with a three month deadline to use delivery codes.

Customers can redeem Tesco Clubcard points to save on their deliveries. So for every 50p in Clubcard vouchers, shoppers can redeem £1.50 in reward partner codes to use against the cost of any delivery plan.

Shoppers were sent an email on Tuesday from the supermarket giant, alerting them of changes to the Delivery Saver Code scheme. Currently, the codes are worth three times as much as Clubcard vouchers, but as of November 14 this will change.

However, customers can choose to pay a monthly fee towards their delivery saver scheme, Birmingham Live reports. Delivery saving memberships cost either £2.49, £4.99 or £7.99 and will help shoppers save money as UK households look to reduce their supermarket spend amid the cost of living crisis.

Tesco has informed customers of the change which will come into force from November 14. The news of the changes were spread on Scrimping on a Budget Facebook group with shoppers claiming they were "gutted" by the news.

One shopper said: "I got the email too.. glad I stopped using Tesco.. I always used Clubcard for saver" and another added: "Gutted! One of the main reasons I use Tesco."

A Tesco spokesperson said: “Clubcard is how our customers get the best value from shopping with Tesco; from Clubcard Prices on thousands of products to Clubcard points on food, fuel, clothing and more in store and online.

"Our Delivery Saver plans provide great value for our customers, starting from as little as £2.49 per month for our Click & Collect plan and £3.99 per month for our cheapest home delivery plan. Clubcard customers will still be able to get three times the value of their vouchers on Tesco Delivery Saver plans until November 14."
