Tesco shoppers divided after spotting 'filthy' new Hellmann's sauce flavour

Tesco shoppers were divided after spotting a new Hellmann's sauce online, with some branding it 'filthy'.

Food brand Hellmann's was established in 1913 and offers a wide range of dressings and sauces, with its iconic mayonnaise amassing a legion of fans.

But its new cheese sauce has left some shoppers conflicted.

Popular food page @newfoodsuk shared a photo of Hellmann's new cheese flavour sauce, which costs £1.70 in Tesco stores, to its Instagram account.

The social media page has built a loyal fan base, keen to hear about all the latest food products and items spotted on store shelves up and down the country.

Captioning the image of the sauce, @newfoodsuk penned: "New Hellmann’s Cheese Flavour Sauce now available at Tesco!"

The picture pulled in more than 2,200 likes from the food page's 241,000 followers.

Shoppers shared their thoughts in the comments section.

Sereena tagged a friend and said: "Gotta try this one next!!"

Hellmann's official Instagram account replied: "Let us know what you think!"

Carly tagged a friend, Sam, and said: "Thought you would love this."

But Sam posted a vomit face emoji and said: "Why would anyone need this."

Carly replied: "Cheesy chips? Crisps sandwiches maybe?"

Hellmann's weighed in and said: "Now we're talking."
