Tesco shopper shares little-known self service hack to save time at checkouts

A TikTok user has shared a little-known hack that Tesco shoppers paying with coins can use to save time when paying at self-service checkouts.

Jenna Nurse, who goes by the username nennajurse22 on the social media platform, posted a video of herself paying for her shopping at the supermarket.

Anybody who has ever had change they needed to use up to pay for their shopping will be aware that the coin slot at self-checkout tills are small and only seem to fit in one coin at a time — which can add time to your shopping trip.

However, as Jenna reveals in the clip, there's actually a way to dramatically speed up this process.

In the video, she states: "So, you go to pay and you have loads of change. You're gonna put them in singly, one at a time, but you're not."

The shopper then showed herself opening up a small flap underneath the coin slot which reveals a larger chute which many coins can be placed into at once.

"Thank me later," Jenna said at the end of the video.

Since being posted, the clip has gained almost 600 likes, and dozens of comments from fellow TikTok users.

One said: "Tell me you've never worked in a supermarket without telling me you've never worked in a supermarket..."

Another commented a blushing face emoji, suggesting that they were surprised by the trick.
