Tesco shopper's hilarious Christmas delivery fail leaves social media in stitches

A supermarket shopper's hilarious delivery fail has brought festive smiles after he shared it online.

Twitter user @jamesmurden told of his followers of the side-splitting mistake on social media.

He had been ordering items from Tesco Online and was stocking up on Christmas staples, the Liverpool Echo reports.

Ticking off all the essentials, he logged off safe in the knowledge that one bag of Brussel sprouts was on its way.

But when his delivery arrived he was stunned to find a single sprout had arrived.

His post read: “Please note: when ordering sprouts from @Tesco online, quantity 1 does not mean 1 bag of sprouts. It means 1 sprout. Thank you and good night”.

It went viral receiving thousands of likes, comments and retweets.

One user wrote: “OMG”, while a second added: “This is excellent, happy Christmas James, that’s pure 2020”.

Another added: “Just when you thought 2020 couldn’t get any worse....”

Others told of similar situations when ordering.

Chloe Hughes wrote: "Earlier this year the 6 bananas I *thought* I ordered turned out to be 6 bunches of bananas.

"Full credit to the @Tesco delivery driver who kept a straight face when asking whether I meant to order that many as I unpacked all 43 of them."

Another said: “For me... 3 quantity of single carrots meant 3 bags. Plenty for Rudolph & co haha”.
