Tesco's thoughtful gesture for shoppers wanting to avoid Valentine's Day

Tesco has introduced a thoughtful email technique for shoppers wishing to avoid Valentine's Day this year.

Valentine's Day is less than two weeks away, with many supermarkets sending out correspondence and newsletters detailing romantic product launches, couples meal deals and more.

But not everyone is looking forward to celebrating on February 14.

With that in mind, Tesco has made it possible for its shoppers to opt out of receiving Valentine's emails so they can avoid hearing about a day they may not want or choose to celebrate.

In an email distributed to shoppers, Zoe Evans from Tesco's Customer Engagement Centre said: "Valentine’s Day is coming up and, while some people will want to celebrate, we understand that others may not be interested in this occasion.

"If you’d prefer not to receive Valentine’s emails from us this year, you can easily opt out here.

"Don’t worry, we’ll still keep you updated about everything else, so you won’t miss out on other news."

Those who choose to opt out will not receive any of Tesco Valentine's Day 2021 emails.

It can take up to 24 hours to come into effect.
