One shopper tweeted. picture of their receipt. They posted: "Shoutout to Tesco for putting the national domestic abuse helpline on all their reciepts."

Another posted: "Good on Tesco including this on their receipts."

"By using our till receipts to provide information on where victims of domestic abuse can access support, we hope that more people will be able to get the help they need."

Authorities say that, despite the rise in domestic abuse cases, many victims have been unsure about where to turn to for help and support.

Refuge, the UK’s largest domestic abuse charity reported a 700 per cent increase in traffic to its website in a single day on April 9th as the situations of many worsened.
