Tesco's change to home delivery service shoppers need to know about

Tesco has announced a change to its online delivery service that will be welcomed by most customers.

The supermarket has increased its basket limit for customers shopping online and has lifted some purchase restrictions too.

Until now, Tesco shoppers have been restricted to 80 items per basket online but the store has increased this to 85 products as panic buying eases.

Tesco has also started to remove purchase limits on most of their products apart from toilet roll, alcohol, pasta, and hand sanitisers, reports The Mirror.

The change will make shopping easier for millions of customers who use the online home delivery service.

It comes after Tesco announced a new strategy for customers queuing to do their essential shop in the rain.

Instead of queuing outside, the supermarket said it may ask people to wait in their cars if the weather is bad.

A statement on Tesco's website explains: "If it's raining or particularly cold, we may ask you to stay in your car to queue – we'll let you know when you can come in."

Social distancing measures are in place at all Tesco supermarkets.

Customers can expect directional floor markings, protective screens at checkouts and dedicated times for vulnerable and elderly people, as well as NHS workers.
