Tesco Mobile offers all customers free unlimited evening and weekend calls

Tesco Mobile is giving free weekend and evening calls to all 5.2 million customers across the network.

From today, free and unlimited calls are available from 8pm to 8am every Monday to Friday and all through the weekend until 1st June when the situation will be reviewed again.

Tesco have recognised that this time during Coronavirus lockdown might be challenging for some people and allowing them to stay connected to family and friends.

Customers can also access a range of support websites for free, without it coming out of their monthly data allowance.

The free access to websites offering guidance on a range of topics from health, finance and charity support including, NHS UK, Citizen’s Advice Bureau, Samaritans and Age UK have been accessible for free since the end of March.

To see what other websites are free, visit tescomobile.com/littlehelps.

Tom Denyard, CEO of Tesco Mobile said: “At Tesco Mobile we always want to support our customers in the most helpful way. In these unprecedented times we’ve seen a huge increase in our customers using their minutes allowance with relatively little change to data usage or text messaging, so free minutes felt the best way to help all of our customers right now.

"We wanted everyone to have a chance to talk to their loved ones for free each day, especially the most vulnerable and those in isolation.  We put our customers first and know that now, more than ever, every little helps.”

Last week, amidst price rises across the industry, Tesco Mobile also confirmed that it will not be raising tariff prices mid-way through a customer’s contract, as part of its Tariff Promise. Tesco Mobile was the first network to introduce a promise not to increase prices mid-contract, in 2013.

And they aren’t the only mobile network to be supporting their customers.

Virgin Media have recently announced new wifi calling - to enable customers can stay connected to anyone and everyone no matter where they are. This is especially good should signal drop out - all you need is wifi to stay connected.

Vodafone are providing 30-days of free unlimited data for NHS staff. The mobile phone provider is offering free unlimited mobile phone data to NHS staff to make sure they are well connected during the Coronavirus outbreak.
