While being vegan does mean cutting out a hefty amount of food, there's one popular snack the animal-friendly dieters can still enjoy: a good old sausage roll.
Following on from Gregg's hugely popular vegan sausage roll, top UK supermarket Tesco has just announced that they're also launching their own version of the pastry-covered treat.
Having launched last week, the new vegan addition is already available from the in-store bakeries of 624 Tesco branches.
Tesco describes the vegan version of the British delicacy as "puff pastry filled with a soy-based Lincolnshire style sausage, seasoned with sage and onion" and while there's no word on whether the taste matches up to high street pastry kings Greggs, the price is certainly better, with Tesco's edition priced at 75p each.
While we've only tried Greggs' surprisingly decent one so far, if Tesco's meat free 30 mini frozen sausage rolls (£1.75) are anything to go by, the new freshly baked version is likely to be a big hit.
If you're not a fan of soy, Tesco also have Wicked Kitchen rolls on the fresh counter for £2 a pop, that contain curly kale, mushroom and garlic wrapped in flaky puff pastry.

The news was unveiled by what appears to be a Tesco employee, who announced the news on deals forum hotukdeals last week.
The same posted also said that "they may be available in larger packs for the freezer too - will update when all is revealed", if you wanted to keep a full stock of them in the freezer.
