Tesco issues urgent warning to shoppers as popular product pulled from freezers

Tesco shoppers have been advised to check their freezers after the supermarket issued an urgent recall of a batch of frozen croissants.

Certain packets of Tesco's All Butter croissants may contain almond croissants instead of plain, and the presence of the nut will not be identified on the packaging, making them dangerous for nut allergy suffers.

The supermarket giant has already taken the affected batch out of its freezers, but customers should check that the affected batch is not lurking in their freezers to eat later. The croissants are safe to eat if you do not suffer from a nut allergy, but should not be eaten if you do.

If you do find you have the croissants - Tesco frozen All Butter Croissants x6 (255G) batch code LL 111, you should return them to store for a full refund, even without a receipt. No other batches are said to be affected.

Tesco said on a Facebook post: "We’re recalling one batch code of Tesco frozen All Butter Croissants x6 as they may contain Tesco frozen Almond Croissants. This means that almond won’t be declared on the packaging."
