Tesco issues urgent message to Clubcard holders who are worried about their points expiring

Many shoppers have been left struggling to get to the supermarket due to the coronavirus pandemic.

And it means they are instead having to shop at closer, smaller or more convenient stores.

This has left millions of shoppers worried about their loyalty points, which could expire before they have been used.

Tesco has issued a statement to the Manchester Evening News confirming that Clubcard points due to expire this month will be extended.

Zoe Evans, of Tesco's customer engagement centre, said: "We appreciate that, for many reasons, most of us aren’t shopping as often as we did before lockdown.

"As a little help from Clubcard, we want to give you more time to use your vouchers which were due to expire on 31 May 2020.

"Any vouchers issued in May 2018 will now not expire until 30 November 2020, giving you an extra 6 months to use them.

"We'll update the expiry date on your digital vouchers, and we'll continue to accept paper vouchers in-store until the extended expiry date. We really hope it helps, and take care."
