Supermarket chain Tesco is urging all of its 20 million Clubcard holders to mark June 14 in their diaries, as, from this date, a popular feature is changing. The change to the Clubcard points system will affect anybody who uses the loyalty scheme, and will mean people are getting less for their money.
As it stands, shoppers can triple the value of their Clubcard points when they exchange them to use with a “Reward Partner”. But in three months, things will alter.
From June 14, Tesco shoppers will only be able to double their points - meaning Clubcard holders will get less for their money. The supermarket currently has over 100 “Reward Partners” such as brands like Thorpe Park, Hotels.com and Pizza Express.

Other big names that are signed up include Disney+ and Legoland. Clubcard holders can still redeem their points for triple their value with a “Reward Partner” before June 14 - so make sure you put this date in your diary.
“Reward Partner” codes ordered before this date will be valid for 12 months from the date of issue. The value of Clubcard points will remain the same if you’re using them against a future Tesco shop.
Clubcard holders earn one point for each £1 they spend in stores at Tesco, so 150 points gets you a £1.50 voucher. If you purchase fuel from a Tesco forecourt, you’ll get one point for every £2 you spend.
You need a minimum of 150 points to request a Clubcard voucher, says the Mirror. Clubcard holders also get cheaper prices on some items compared to those without the loyalty card.
It is free to sign up to the Clubcard scheme, which has roughly 20 million members. A Tesco spokesperson said: “Clubcard unlocks the best value from Tesco - from thousands of exclusive deals through Clubcard Prices, to money off your groceries and fuel, or accessing double the value of your vouchers with more than 100 Clubcard Reward Partners.
"Millions of people tap their Tesco Clubcard every time they shop, benefiting from access to more than 8,000 weekly deals on Clubcard Prices. And with potential savings of up to £351 a year, more people than ever before are making the most of the immediate value that Tesco Clubcard offers.
"We are making a change to how members can use their vouchers with our Reward Partners, but they will still be able to unlock great value in the same range of ways as before."
