Tesco has asked customers to return certain batches of tablets as they contain levels of an ingredient above the legal limit.
The supermarket has issued the recall notice on some of its own brand Omega 3 Fish Oil capsules because they contain raised levels of glycidol. Tesco has advised shoppers who may have taken the supplements recently to visit their GP if they have been feeling unwell.
The affected batches are the Tesco Health Omega 3 Fish Oil 30, 90 and 240g capsules, which have a best before date of all dates up to and including April (04) 2025. The supermarket has instructed anyone who has purchased the affected supplements not to use them and instead take them back to a Tesco store for a refund, the Liverpool Echo reports .

The notice explains: “We’re recalling certain date codes of Tesco Health Omega 3 Fish Oil 30, 90 and 240 capsules, as they contain raised levels of glycidol, which are above the permitted legal limit.
“This shouldn’t affect your health, if you’ve been following the dosage advice. However, if you’ve used the product very recently and feel unwell, we recommend you consult your GP.”
Tesco added: “If you’ve bought an affected product, please don’t use it. Instead, return it to a Tesco store for a refund. No receipt is required.”
