Tesco issues recall for soup product as it could contain metal

Tesco is recalling one of its soups — because it could contain small pieces of metal. The urgent warning, issued by the Food Standards Agency, means customers should not eat the product.

The FSA says the affected product is the 110g (5 pack) Tesco Chicken and Vegetable cup soup with croutons, with a best before date of October 31, 2023. “The possible presence of small pieces of metal makes this product unsafe to eat,” the Agency said in a statement.

Shoppers should return the product and get a refund from the store they bought the soup from, the notice issued yesterday (April 14) added. It continued: “Our advice to consumers [is] if you have bought any of the above product do not eat it.

“Instead, return it to the store from where it was bought for a full refund. No receipt is required. If you require further details please contact Customer Services on UK 0800 505 555.”
