Canned food brand Heinz is recalling baby food sold at Tesco stores after one jar was found to contain sharp metal fragments.
Two sharp metal fragments were found inside the product, which is thought to have been bought at a Tesco store.
A recall statement posted on food.gov.uk reads: "Heinz and Tesco are voluntarily recalling all 7+ months Heinz By Nature baby food range after the discovery that a single jar of baby food had been tampered with.
"Two sharp metal fragments were found in the jar. Only the jars in the 7+month range and purchased from Tesco are affected.
"The same product and same batch codes at other retail stores and in other packaging eg. pouches are not affected."
Heinz By Nature 7+ months baby foods sold in 200g jars in Sweet & Sour Chicken, Mango Chicken Curry, Cottage Pie, Cheesy & Tomato Pasta Stars, Sunday Chicken Dinner, Spaghetti Bolognese, Winter Veggies & Lamb and Pasta Bake With Tuna varieties are being pulled from the shelves.
Heinz took to Twitter to confirm the recall, saying: "We are aware of a current incident relating to Heinz By Nature 7+ months infant jars sold in Tesco stores. These products were immediately removed from sale and are being voluntarily recalled whilst an investigation takes place."
The statement on food.gov.uk continues, "If you have bought any of the above products do not feed it to your baby. Instead, return it to the Tesco store from where it was bought for a full refund.
