Tesco is now selling packs of halloumi fries

Whether you get it as a starter at Nando's or bulk buy it from the freezer section at Aldi, there's no denying that halloumi is having a bit of a moment right now.

The gloriously salty cheese has been making waves across menus for a few years now, so it was only a matter of time before major supermarket chain Tesco got in on the action.

After selling halloumi fries at Christmas and seeing a huge surge in demand, it seems Tesco have decided to bring back the fried cheese bites for good.

News of the latest addition to Tesco's shelves has been revealed by Instagram user Kevs Snack Reviews, who posted a photo of the new cheesy fries with the caption More new Tesco Foods - Swipe for all!".

Pretty52 , who originally spotted Kev's post, contacted Tesco who confirmed the good news, telling the website "In an email, Tesco said: "The halloumi fries were originally released for Christmas last year, and now have been repackaged to add to the permanent range at Tesco".

While Aldi sell theirs for £1.99 per pack, sadly, there's no word on price from Tesco, but they do have their own page on the Tesco site, which currently reads "Halloumi pieces coated in a golden breadcrumb for a crisp finish", just in case you needed to be tempted a little more into clicking add to basket.

But just like Aldi who had to limit customers to a few packs of the sought-after indulgent chips, they're already sold out online. So we'll just be here constantly refreshing the page until they return...

However, if you do have a local Tesco store it could be worth popping in, where some stores are still stocking them while stocks last.

Slightly more bulky than the Aldi version, Tesco's halloumi fries come in packs of eight and only need to be cooked for 10-12 minutes from chilled to turn them into the dinner (or snack) of dreams.
