Tesco Ireland urgently recalling cereal bar product over salmonella fears

Tesco Ireland is recalling two batches of cereal bars due to the possible presence of salmonella.

The supermarket chain has issued a recall on two batches of the four-packs of Tesco Apricot, Almond & Yogurt Bars.

Customers have been warned to not consume the product, and have been asked to return the product as a precautionary measure.

The batches labelled 9100 and 9101 are being recalled. Tesco customers will receive a full refund - and a receipt is not needed.

A Tesco Ireland statement said: "We have been made aware by our supplier of the possible presence of Salmonella in 2 batch codes of Tesco Apricot, Almond and Yogurt Bars.

"As a precautionary measure, we are recalling the affected products.

"Please do not consume this product. Instead, return the affected product to a Tesco store where a full refund will be given. No receipt is required."

A Tesco Ireland spokeswoman told the Irish Mirror that Irish consumers wouldn't have received the batches.

She said: "Tesco Ireland confirms that it didn’t receive the batches of product affected by this recall."
