Tesco Ireland: Krispy Kreme plans rollout to outlets across Dublin as second store on way

Krispy Kreme fans rejoice as Dublin's favourite doughnut shop is planning a massive rollout across the capital.

The ultra-popular US chain will be supplying branded high-tech cabinets to 20 outlets including Tesco and Tesco Extras in Clarehall, Naas, Maynooth, Tallaght and Stillorgan and Circle K at Kill North on the N7.

Customers can choose from firm favourites including Original Glazed, Chocolate Dreamcake, Lotus Biscoff and Nutty Chocolatta.

All Krispy Kreme doughnuts will be made in its Blanchardstown outlet and delivered directly to each store every day

Declan Foley, Krispy Kreme Country Manager for Ireland said: “We are really excited to be expanding our presence in Ireland through select Tesco and Circle K stores and hope to build on the incredible love for the brand that we have seen from our Irish customers to date.

"The investment required in these cabinets represents a significant capital expenditure for our business and helps deliver a magical brand experience.

"In addition to the cabinets, our new ‘Hot Now’ store in Central Plaza will be a fully immersive experience for Krispy Kreme fans as they get too see the product from start to finish!

"We look forward to continuing to bring even more joy to our customers and creating smiles with these new developments, which also demonstrates our commitment to investing in the Irish market for the long-term.”

The first Irish Krispy Kreme branch opened its doors to the public in Blanchardstown in 2018.

The Dublin outlet has been a huge success making it Krispy Kreme's most profitable store worldwide.

The store saw customers queuing at all hours of the night at the 24-hour store.

This led to some initial conflict with local residents who were disturbed by the noise of cars beeping their horns while waiting at the drive-thru.

Krispy Kreme subsequently scaled back their opening hours to 11:30pm to appease locals.

A second branch is planned for the Central Bank plaza on Dame Street in Dublin.
