Shoppers have blasted Tesco's decision to keep stores open on Boxing Day while other major supermarkets remain closed.
While Aldi, ASDA and M&S were shut on December 26 to let staff spend time with loved ones, Tesco bosses made the decision to reopen stores after Christmas.
This angered some shoppers who branded the supermarket 'disgraceful' for making staff work on the public holiday - with many calling for a ban on Boxing Day shifts in supermarkets.
Fuming customers took the comments of a recent Tesco Facebook post to make their feelings known.
On Christmas Day, Tesco wrote: "Wishing all our colleagues and customers a very merry Christmas. And to our incredible colleagues in a challenging year, a big thank you for every little thing you do. #EveryLittleHelps."

While many shoppers took to the comments to thank the supermarket, others were disgruntled over its Boxing Day opening decision.
"Don't forget Tesco is open tomorrow for anything you have forgot. Merry Christmas to the workers," one wrote.
Another person commented: "On the back of this post I take it Tesco are closed Boxing Day like all other supermarkets as recognition to all their hard working staff during this year."
A third wrote: "If you mean Christmas do you mean the one day we are closed ! Back to work today, thanks for not rewarding our dedication with time with our families. I bet the board have a nice break. Well done Morrisons and Sainsbury's.
"Maybe you could have thanked your staff by giving them Boxing Day off as well like so many other stores have!
"Staying closed on Boxing Day would have been a better thank you for your staff and those in supply chain. Short trading day anyway, so no great loss, but would have meant so much to families."
A spokesperson told Manchester Evening News: "Many of our customers rely on visiting their local stores on Boxing Day so our stores will be open and our colleagues will be working on a voluntary basis."
Tesco also confirmed that all store colleagues will be able to take at least a three-day break at Christmas or New Year.
Colleagues who don’t want to work on Boxing Day will not have to, and colleagues who choose to work on Boxing Day will be paid a premium hourly rate.
