Tesco in desperate need of staff in County Durham as stockpiling continues despite coronavirus guidance

If you are looking for a temporary job or full time work, Tesco is currently advertising numerous positions for its stores across County Durham.

There are opportunities at various stores including Newton Aycliffe, Bishop Auckland, Durham and Seaham.

From customer assistants, to delivery drivers and shift leaders, there are a variety of opportunities.

Here we have are the opportunities and how you can apply:

Customer delivery driver

It is a hands on, physical and varying job, with no two shifts the same.

The role is about more than just driving; it is also about helping others and delivering service with a smile.

You will be responsible for serving customers with a smile and taking care of their deliveries like they are your own.

You will need to load the van when required and do regular checks to make sure it is road worthy.

Applicants must be passionate about delivering great customer service, friendly, approachable and reliable.

A full clean driving licence for at least 12 months and no more than three penalty points is essential.

Customer assistant

You will be responsible for ensuring customers always get the products they need, are excited about promotions and find the aisles welcoming.

Applicants must be willing to work hard for customers, prioritise their workload and follow instructions in either verbal or written form.

You must be reliable and a good timekeeper, smart and tidy at all times.

Shift leader

Working in a fast paced retail environment, you will be responsible for running duty shifts, coordinating a team to deliver a clean and full store that exceeds customer expectations.

You will be looking for ways to improve service in your store through job coaching and feedback.

Applicants must be able to build strong and lasting relationships with colleagues to create a team spirit, and be able to keep the team well informed.

Team manager - job share, checkouts

You’ll be a role model, helping colleagues to know and love the products and services, involving everyone in community projects.

The shift pattern will vary from day-to-day, but are planned in advance.

You will be responsible for talking to colleagues, to share and encourage new ideas and best practice.

Applicants must be warm and welcoming, take time to recognise and listen to others.
