With products containing hard plastics, small pieces of metal and hidden allergens, the Food Standards Agency have announced a series of products for recall over the past few weeks.
Quorn, Tesco and Iceland are some of the biggest brands from this month who have had to recall products.
It is important to stay aware of product recalls due to the serious health risks which could come from eating dodgy products.
Last year 9 people died from Listeria causing 43 different frozen foods to be recalled.
These are the products the FSA announced for recall in July.
Quorn cocktail sausages
The FSA announced on the July 23 that this meatless picnic treat needed to be returned due to small traces of metal being found within sausages.
Product Details
The recall applies only to the 180g packs with a use by date between the 27th and 30th of July.
Risk statement
The presence of metal makes this product unsafe to eat and presents a safety risk.
Tesco’s Fermented Finest Fruit Pressé
On July 22, Tesco began recalling four flavours of their Tesco Finest Fruit Pressé because fermentation has occurred in some of the bottles, putting the bottles in risk of exploding.
Product details
The presse’s recalled include the ‘Sparkling Valencia Orange and Passion Fruit Pressé’, the ‘Sicilian Lemon and Mint Pressé’, the ‘Raspberry and Pomegranate Pressé’ and the ‘Apple and Elderflower Pressé.’ This recall only replies to products that are 750ml bottles and that expire at the end of March 2020.
No other Tesco products are known to be affected.
Risk Statement
The products potentially present a risk to health because they have fermented and as a result pressure may have built up in the bottles which could cause them to explode.
Iceland’s Crispy Chicken Dippers
Iceland has issued a recall on their packs of 60 Chicken Dippers as some may contain pieces of hard plastic.
Product details
Any pack of 60 Crispy Chicken Dippers that has a best before prior to the January 9, 2021 must be returned to the store of purchase.
No other Iceland products are known to be affected.
Risk Statement
This product may contain pieces of hard plastic which makes the product unsafe to eat.
Tan Y Castell Chocolate Chip Griddles
Tan Y Castell is recalling their Chocolate Chip Griddles as they may contain milk which is not mentioned on the packaging.

Any Chocolate Chip Griddles that are in a 6 cake pack with a best before of any of the following dates must be returned;
