Tesco has three new parking rules to help keep customers safe from coronavirus

Tesco staff may help customers park cars as part of a string of new rules to help keep shopper safe during the coronavirus crisis.

It is just the latest safety measure introduced by the firm to try and help halt the spread of Covid-19, which to date has claimed over 20,000 British lives.

A cap on shopper numbers is already in place, while customers have been urged to remain two metres apart and use hand gel.

However as WalesOnline reports, Tesco has implemented three new parking rules. They are:

Help parking

"To help limit the number of people in-store, when you arrive, we may help you park your car," Tesco said.

Queuing in cars

The store explained: "If it's raining or particularly cold, we may ask you to stay in your car to queue – we'll let you know when you can come in."

Floor markings

Tesco stated: "Floor markings in our car parks will help you to keep a safe distance when queuing."

Like many other supermarkets, Tesco has dedicated shopping times for vulnerable and elderly people as well as NHS workers, while putting plastic guards up to avoid germs being spread to staff.

There is growing home Britain could be heading towards an ease in the lockdown as both the rates of deaths and hospital admissions due to the virus continue to fall.

A minute's silence will be held at 11am on Tuesday for all the key workers who have lost their lives.
