Tesco has slashed the price of its Quality Street, Heroes, Celebrations and Roses tubs just before Christmas

It's September - which means it's time to stock up on boxes of chocolate in time for Christmas.

The tubs, which used to be £5, recently been slashed to £3.50, reports the Mirror.

You can find them online, as well as in store, letting you stock up now ahead of Christmas - or just share them round the office or treat yourself at home.

Tesco said they should stay at this price until Sunday, September 17, so you can pick them up at the weekend if they have any left.

The Tesco offer means it matches Morrisons' "two for £7" deal on tubs, and beats the deals available from Iceland (£5) and Asda (£4).

If it's sheer volume of chocolaty  treats you're after, the Celebrations and Quality Street tubs are a bit bigger at 650g each, while the Heroes and Roses come in at 600g.

Sadly, that's a bit less than last year, when Quality Street were sold in 698g tubs and Heroes and Roses had 660g a tub.
