Tesco customers warned of major Clubcard changes in the coming weeks

Tesco shoppers have been issued a warning by the popular supermarket, ahead of some important changes coming to the Clubcard loyalty scheme.

Those who shop at one of the UK's biggest grocers are being told to be aware of these incoming changes, reports Birmingham Live.

From June 14, 2023, those who spend their Clubcard points with rewards partners will realise their points are worth less than before.

Clubcard vouchers will only double in value if exchanged at any of Tesco's 100 reward partners - which means the points won't go as far as they used to for shoppers.

Tesco said in a statement: "We’re making this change to the scheme to make sure we can continue to provide a wide range of rewards that meet the needs of all our Tesco Clubcard members, while keeping prices low for everyone.

"Tesco Clubcard continues to have the biggest and most generous Reward Partner scheme with access to over 100 Partners at 2x your Clubcard voucher value.

"To give you extra time to decide when to use your Tesco Clubcard vouchers with Partners, we’re extending the validity period on Tesco Clubcard Reward Partner codes ordered until June 13, so that they’re valid for 12 months, rather than the usual six months.

"So don’t worry, there’s plenty of time to use them at their current value before we make the change.

"If you already have a Tesco Clubcard Reward Partner code, you can still use it at up to 3x the value until its expiry date. The expiry date can be found in your order email or in the My rewards section in the Tesco Grocery & Clubcard app.

"Doubling the value of Tesco Clubcard vouchers with our Tesco Clubcard Reward Partners is a convenient way to make your money go further on things like family fun, dining out, at-home entertainment, cinema trips and holidays."

Motorists who use a Clubcard can currently get one point for every £2 spent on fuel - but from June 14, they will collect one point for every two litres of fuel bought instead.
