Angry Tesco customers have taken to social media after hundreds found problems with shopping online. Posts began to appear earlier on Wednesday with shoppers saying they could not add items to their baskets.
Users said they had tried various devices and had issues both on the website and the App. Kirsty Richardson said: "@Tesco is your website down? Can’t add to trolley or book a slot." Mahri Mcgregor added: "Yeah happening to me too, halfway through doing a shop,I'll have to start again later and it's not my favourite thing to do. I hate grocery shopping."
Clair B posted on Twitter: "@Tesco your website has major issues, im seeing several people posting. I have tried multiple devices and browsers but I add something to basket and it doesnt add it."
Staff responded to many of the posts. Clair B was told: "I'm so sorry that there seems to be some technical issues with the site at the moment. Our IT team are aware and hope to have this back up and running as normal as soon as possible - Dawn"
Another customer was told: "We are very sorry for this issue, we are experiencing website and app technical issues at the moment.
"We have reported this to our IT Team and they are currently investigating this. We hope this will be resolved very soon and thank you for your patience."
Tesco later said the matter had now been resolved. A spokesperson said: "We have now fixed a technical issue that impacted some of our customers using our website and app earlier today. We are sorry for any inconvenience this caused."
More than 500 people had reported outages with the app and website over the past 24 hours. This is the latest outage after more than 2,000 complained of problems on August 15 when they could not access the website.
